Strike The Pretence
Strike the Pretence, the first of a three part gig presented by "Fakies Production" held at Beat Merchants in Singapore on the 10th of January, was one of the first and few gigs that started the new year off with a "bang!" here in the lion city.
Some of the bands included Shadows Of Miasma who opened the show. Unfortunately I came a little late and missed their set but i'm sure they were really awesome. Hope to see them in the near future.
Blindfold Hero was next. A relatively new band that has manage to get my attention. With melodic guitar riffs and catchy vocals that reminded me of emery. Really glad that I caught them and I reckon that they are one of the bands to watch out for this 2009.
Ivory was next and with that they have brought their usual energetic selves with covers from TDWP they always manage to get the crowd moving and singing along. It's always awesome to see people supporting local talent!

Last but not least was of course Fake Eyelash who had the biggest crowd of the evening. Their amazing guitar work always manages to captivate me and screams that show the emotion of every song, are what makes Fake Eyelash so special. I didn't realise that beat merchants could hold that much people and still have a mosh pit.

And finally, one of the most brutal and tightest bands in Singapore, Ebony's Call who were the headliners for this show and it was safe to say they really showed us how breakdowns are supposed to be. It was awesome to watch them play eventhough they had two replacements for the night, Ebony's Call still managed to move the crowd with their awesome breakdowns, kick ass sweeping solo's and with their infamous song "Put Out My Flames With Gasoline", they have managed once again to tear up the stage. One of my favourite metal bands.

"Strike The Pretence" was definately a huge success and we look forward to more gigs by "Fakies Productions" in the future. We also look forward to the second of this 3 part gig that's happening this Saturday where we will see our friends the 84's who will be performing. The 84's have made a great impression on me when I went up to KL. Really looking forward to this next part.
