What is Gegey Music?

Everyone has the right to express themselves but in a positive way, of course. Our need to stand out from the crowd is too irresistible and the urge to voice out is inevitable; so we couldn’t agree more in doing what we believe in and started working towards it.

In our team, each soldier has their own mission, which acts as their very own catalyst; their driving force to do it all-out with pure commitment and they never stop till they drop. This routine was pursued effortlessly until the very moment ideas of Gegey Music popped into our mind. Gegey Music is a collaboration of both modern and traditional art within one stage. Hence, Gegey Music acts as our guideline, our reference that kept us on the right track along the way.

We are unique in our approach- in this case, we don’t just flip coins and choose between the head or tail, we are more subtle because we do not just represent one side; the head nor the tail. Instead we took both sides into consideration and combined them together so they act in synergism- a more holistic approach. This is quiet the analogy for our wonderful event.

Our enthusiastic energy and endless effort has brought us to this highest level of creativity, we worshipped every moment of indulgence in the process of making this entire masterpiece. Each individual piece were put together one by one and we bind it in such a way that each elements are related.

What started out as ideas, dreams, and hours of brainstorming has eventually paid off by our very own sweat and tears. We live up to see our dream come true, and the most rewarding part is that we dedicate all of this to you.

Where all are inspired by the arts and where the arts become a fundamental in life through a connection with artists and their work.

OUR MISSION

In general, Gegey Music main mission is to schedule musical events comprising of local acts and talents. From the events, we hoped that people would regain the spirits of the alliance of these two arts combined together, which is on the brink of extinction from people’s heart. On the top of that, we also want to show the artistic characters of certain ethnic, which is a combination between music creativity, dance and others. We anticipate that our forthcoming events would be a positive contribution towards the art community and the society so our local music enthusiast can continuously grow their talents. Most importantly, this event symbolizes our appreciation towards the masterpiece itself.

OUR OBJECTIVES

With the mission that we had in mind we hope to achieve the following objectives:

1. To present quality performances within a regular programme calendar that meets a wide variety of tastes
2. To expand the present audience base for the arts
3. To create an intimate and comfortable environment for audiences and artists to interact
4. To seek funding opportunities to enable the development of talent and creation of new works
5. To provide job opportunity to artistic and creative individuals especially those with keen interest in building a career within the arts industry

OUR TEAM

Apart from this, Gegey Music is just not all about music. We have a well-organized team, under separate division so that Gegey Music will function accordingly. Here, we are inspired to function in an organized manner by a thorough ART MANAGEMENT process.

Once you are involved with the team, the learning experience will enhance the artistic and creative skills especially those with keen interest in building a career within the arts industry. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for interested parties, to acquire a hands-on overview of the way a non-profit organization is run.

Therefore, the Gegey Music offers interns exposure to local artists and to acquire invaluable work experience within a unique arts organization

There are various opportunities across the divisions which allows such as:

BUSINESS
Jobscope - Work in special projects as well as assisting in the day-to-day front of house office management. Duties may include preparing financial reports, filling, scheduling of appoiments,calendar management,venue hiring systems,ticketing operations and general Gegey Music upkeep.

PUBLIC RELATIONS
Jobscope- PR will undertake tasks such writing press releases, distribution of publicity materials, securing program ads from local businesses, mailing,filing, database update and marketing research

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
Jobscope- The technical department may assist the Techinical Director, Sound and Video Engineers with the installation and programming for productions, pre-production planing, and maintenance of the venues and equipment. Technical personel may also be asked to function as running crew for selected performances

This adds a new gist to GEGEY- the fact that we are all not just about music. We may provide the artistic youngsters with job opportunities, curbing the problems of unemployment flooding in our society especially.

Why Gegey Music?

Therefore, the reason we have proposed about Gegey music and for our team to be heard as well as appreciated is just not for the purpose of publicity. We are unique both in our approaches and missions. What we want is for Gegey Music to give a meaningful value more than just commercialism or to raise profit- we want to appreciate the priceless value of the masterpiece itself. Apart form this we hope that this event can also encourage others to conduct an event of similar nature, hence we will be their pioneer for similar events in the near future.

Lastly, Gegey Music itself is a societal association that allows youngsters to learn and experience the essence of the arts industry. It is a valuable fact that Gegey Music offers interns exposure to local artists and to acquire invaluable work experience within a unique arts organization.
